Size Sticker Size Guide: Rounds, Rectangles & Clothing Packs

Rolls of colored round size stickers with printed letter markings.
Quick Answer

Our round size stickers commonly measure 10–30 mm across. Compare 15, 20 and 25 mm rounds for short markings, and a 30 × 15 mm rectangle for longer wording. Choose the layout around the longest size marking, not only S or M.

What Size Should a Clothing Size Sticker Be?

For a simple S, M or L, compare round stickers measuring 15, 20 and 25 mm across. Our round size stickers commonly fall within 10–30 mm diameter, with square options commonly measuring 10–30 mm per side. Longer wording may fit better on a rectangle.

The best choice keeps the marking easy to find without covering too much of the garment or package. We print your size system, including letters, numbers and additional wording, and can help make the different versions look like one range.

Examples for Short and Long Markings

Round sizes below are finished diameters. Rectangular sizes are the finished sticker width × height with the text upright. These examples help compare layouts; they are not universal rules for a particular garment size.

Long wording such as ONE SIZE30 × 15 mm1.18 × 0.59 inA horizontal strip on a garment bag

The physical dimensions of the sticker are separate from the clothing size printed on it. An XL garment does not automatically need a larger sticker than an S garment.

Design the Whole Size Range Together

A layout made around M may become crowded when it changes to XXXL or a longer numeric marking. Put the longest version beside the shortest before settling on the sticker dimensions. A shared type style and consistent position make the range easier to follow.

Color can help your team sort sizes, but keep the printed letter or number visible too. A clear sticker needs lettering that remains easy to see against the actual garment or bag contents. The yellow backing in a sample photograph is not necessarily the color of the peeled sticker.

Example: Making Room for ONE SIZE

Imagine the approved ONE SIZE lettering occupies a 24 × 7 mm rectangle at the intended print size. Adding an illustrative 3 mm of clear space at each side and 4 mm above and below gives (24 + 3 + 3) × (7 + 4 + 4) = 30 × 15 mm.

That makes a 30 × 15 mm finished rectangle a useful first sample for this particular artwork. It does not mean every font or language will fit. The same wording in a different typeface may need more width, and the example margins are not a universal print specification.

Keep the shorter size versions in the same outer format if a consistent packing routine matters. We can center the different markings without changing the dimensions of every sticker.

Put the Marking Where People Look for It

For folded garments, choose an exposed area that stays visible in the stack. On a clear bag, a consistent corner position can make the size easier to find while leaving the clothing and brand design in view. Avoid placing the whole marking over a fold or an opening.

A removable mark on fabric and a label intended to stay on a bag have different adhesive needs. We offer coated paper, synthetic paper and PET with adhesive selected for the intended surface. A larger sticker alone does not solve an unsuitable adhesive choice.

Plan for Removal as Well as Display

If the customer should peel the sticker away, tell us at the start. We can arrange a sample for the actual fabric or packaging. The way it holds and releases matters more than the word removable on its own.

Avery’s removal guidance notes that time on the surface and temperature can affect removal. We do not promise residue-free performance on every fabric. Keep any care or brand information that needs to remain with the garment in its own suitable label format.

Separate Sticker Size from Roll and Order Size

A 20 mm round sticker describes one peeled label, not the roll diameter or liner width. We can supply rolls or sheets and arrange packing by the printed size and quantity. For machine application, the roll format also needs to suit the equipment.

A size list with quantities for each marking is enough to start the discussion. Add a photo of the folded garment or bag and we can help choose the layout. There is no fixed minimum order; estimated size-sticker production is 5–8 days, with the schedule agreed for the order and shipping time separate.

Frequently Asked Questions

It can, provided the longest marking remains clear. Designing the full range together often gives a more consistent result than choosing a different diameter for every letter.
